Preserving the family farm

Don Stabler preserved 80 acres of his family’s farm in Hamilton Township, carrying out the wishes of his father Art Stabler, who purchased the property in 1962. A section of Pine Run meanders through the property, its waters shaded on both sides by trees. With loads of road frontage and rolling hills, passersby are afforded picturesque scenes of the property’s field crops and small herd of cattle. The charming brick farmhouse sits just off the road, and not far off is an historic Pennsylvania barn with the uncommon feature of its bank to the upper level entering on the gable end!
